PORSCHE CENTRE OAKVILLE-CANADA -GRAND OPENING....
So this trip & story began almost a year ago when we hosted a party for Porsche during the LA AUTO SHOW at our DTLA loft,i was fortunate to meet a guy by the name of Francesco Policaro -who told me he was going to be opening up a Porsche dealership in Canada & would be inviting us up !
naturally i thanked him for the invite & then proceeded to forget all about it -well about 6 weeks ago i received a phone call from Canada!
it was Francesco inviting us up to Canada for a few days for his new mega 60,000 PORSCHE centre oakville opening ,
as luck would have it he even offered to ship my race car up there for the event as well ( the car was picked up in Raleigh NC & shipped up to Canada )
so last Saturday with our bags packed Karen & i Headed out to LAX
5 HOURS later we we in Toronto -Canada.
we were met Curbside at the airport by PCO mobility specialists Bob & Gary -who handed us the keys to Francesco
personal car - a 7 speed manual 991 with a duck tail no less..
once again the PORSCHE gods were smiling down on us..
we were staying in downtown Toronto for the first 2 nights in the cool hotel Le Germain on Mercer street right in the heart of the Entertainment district....

sunday was spent doing a little local sightseeing in Toronto..
sure is a lot of construction going on in Toronto...

thankfully the sun was shinning & the rain held off....

downtown Toronto has some bad roads & a lot of one way streets - the marathon helped out as well !
we visited the cool distillery district...
drove the 991 some more....
7 speed manual box is addictive
sport plus mode is the way to go..
people sure do LOVE the way this car looks..
the next day Monday we checked out of the Hotel & headed west.....

Brent & the gang are a cool bunch & have a very tidy shop..

LONDON buses go everywhere :)

60,000 sg ft of porsche paradise............
Checked on 277 ,met the crew & took a tour.....
a small gathering of cool cars were set up in the garage
jay Lloyds ULTRA COOL 81 -934 inspired 550 HP Turbo..
jay is the classic car consultant at the Porsche center Oakville -PCO -a 40 year Porsche veteran ,my new buddy & all round cool dude -Not bad for an Aussie :)
this 76-930 belongs to Bill MacEachern & has almost a millon KM on the clock !!!!

these guys were on hand to park some cars.......
an estimated 1000 people showed up !
the sun went down & the fun began...
i did a little interview with these guys before it got crazy.
people showed up
Champagne was poured...
beer was drank..
music was played....
MORE people showed up..
food and drinks were served all night long.....
people liked what they saw....
a meet a lot of people that follow my blog & posts..
Francesco gave a heart felt passionate speech to the packed room.
Bernd Maier from Porsche AG was on hand to give a speach & a special gift.

Francesco & the entire Policaro family & PCO team have done a spectacular job in creating a truely inspiring Porsche facility,
the standard & bar have been set very high......
