65-911 REUNITED WITH ORIGINAL MOTOR

I often say that the PORSCHE world is a small world, and besides the cars & driving its all about the people & the stories.

well this one is about as good as it gets,

about a month ago i decided to put my 65-911 up for sale on E-bay,i had owned the non numbers matching car for almost 4 years & had decided it was time to move it on.

3 days into the E-bay auction i received an E-mail from a Porsche enthusiast  john Thompson of Oregon informing me that he had recently owned & sold the original #S matching case/motor to me car.

john had been informed by another Enthusiast by the name of Jordon that john had indeed owned my original engine,

good job i had posted the Kardex & Porsche COA In my ad,

as that was how the motor was confirmed to be the original from the number on the Kardex

anyway long story short the motor was no residing in South Carolina with a guy named Charles,

NOW i had to decide what to do about the E-BAY auction,

as this was perhaps a once in a lifetime type of situation,

i decided to stop the auction & chase down the lead on the original motor,

after all the chase is part of the fun :)

naturally i made a few phone calls & a  few days later a deal was struck.

a few weeks later my original disassembled motor arrived in a crate & is now re-united with 65 -911 car # 300365 under the same roof for the first time in many years..

MANY THANKS TO JOHN,JORDAN & CHARLES FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN......

DON'T WE ALL JUST LOVE A HAPPY ENDING :)
